ABOUT US
Established in 2000, Como Social & Leisure Centre (CSLC) is a joint venture of the St Vincent de Paul Society and Sutherland Mental Health Service.
The centre was developed to address the growing social needs of people living with mental illness. This includes those currently hospitalised, persons participating in rehabilitation or living in the community.

Como Social & Leisure Centre (CSLC) is a volunteer based, support service established to provide recreational, educational, social and living skills, and prevocational training programs. CSLC delivers these programs through centre activities, bus trips and community based activities.
The Como Social & Leisure Centre provides services that are inspired by the philosophy of the St Vincent de Paul Society and are governed by the Disability Service Standards and requirements of associated Disability and Anti-discrimination legislation.
Purpose of the centre
CSLC’s purpose is to provide a safe, comfortable and friendly atmosphere for people to socialise and build support networks.
This is to help prevent the isolation and loneliness that is often associated with those living with Mental Health issues. Regular attendance by members has allowed friendships to form and support networks to exist between staff, volunteers and members alike.
Our Goals
To assist individuals with mental illnesses with their recovery through supportive friendships and community connections.
To help combat the stigma associated with mental illnesses by engaging community members in relationships with people who have a psychiatric disability.
To offer volunteers an opportunity for personal growth and satisfaction through helping others.

We are conveniently located in Como, offering a welcoming and safe place to meet people.
The Centre provides an opportunity to have a break from the day-to-day routine and experience a range of popular activities.
Being a member of CSLC means that you can participate in deciding the monthly calendar of meal menus, outings and recreational activities.
